Message First off, it takes a lot of money to race in the Pro Sport Compact Series. The Turbonetics Celica had a $1,000,000+ budget to race this season. Only to prove there are not enough V-8s to compete regularly. The Scranton Bros. were notorious NMCA racers to begin with, some would say they "sandbagged" thier way into the SC scene. Though it goes to show you that $1,000,000 gets you about $100,000 in prize money. If the HKS Supra had made it to Pomona for the Finals, There would have been a new record set and new King of Import V-8s. It was quickly sent back to Japan for a 2JZ swap. You might see a 6 sec. 200 mph, Supra, next year.

As for what our setup is, we us a VG30DETT block, bored out to 3.2L. Turbos are twin KKK Turbolader K26 with MacLaren F1 turbines. Average boost about 26 psi. Stage 1 NOS. The optimum launch RPM is about 8900-9800, depending on track conditions.

As for my opinion on V-8s, NHRA should have let them stay. There would have been more to come. NHRA could have either cut down the prize money, or make them carry more weight, too keep them around. I don't know if you read SCC magazine last month, but Jim Skelly had a blurb about guys putting V-8s in Z32s. Well, guess who those guys were?

If you don't know what your looking at, it's a VH41 engine.

This is what happens when you have a couple of guys with too much extra time on thier hands. It was NA, stock block. I say "was", because we blew it up on the dyno testing how much NOS it could take. So I can't give you any dyno stats. I do know that it produced almost 300 hp, NA, with more torque compared to a Stock TwinTurbo Z32. But we can cover that in another thread.

Anyways, To answer your last question, "is your car is capable of running 200mph and a 6 second time?". With our current setup, yes and no. It's capable right now, but the conditions have to be just right, air temp, track temp, etc. To be more likely too? We're in the process of upgrading our turbos to bigger and better, I can't mention the name of the brand, but it's similar to 3237 Garret housing. 40 psi of boost, Stage 2 NOS, or should I say NX. A couple of gear changes to our tranny and rear diff. Fix some minor problems with our suspension and rear wing. Consider Methanol and a A2W intercooler. Off the top of my head, that's about it in a nutshell.

I might have missed some of your other questions, but I'd be happy answer anything I missed. Maybe, one at a time.

BTW Were in the Turbo Magazine Calander, November.

Cheers!
